I wanted to be straightforward with you.

Right now, this site is not bringing in enough money to cover the costs of keeping it online and continuing the work. Between hosting, time, and basic living expenses, things have gotten tight. I’m at the point where I genuinely need more support if I’m going to keep this 25-year project afloat.

If you’ve found value in the content here - whether it’s the reviews / comparisons, the calendar, year-end poll or just having a place that supports physical media information - I’d really appreciate it if you’d consider becoming a Patreon member.

I’m going to give it a week or two to see if we can generate enough support to keep going. During that time, I’ll put together a list of my own personal ‘rewatchables’ - the indispensable discs from my digital library. These definitely aren’t the greatest films ever made, and they’re different from our voted-on Desert Island List, but people have asked me for this personal list for a long time and I have procrastinated. I promised I’d make it before the site closes its doors for good, and I intend to keep that promise. It will definitely expose my oddball tastes , which might alienate more physical media purists than it attracts. We’ll see...
