ONE VOICE (not Ellsworth Monkton Toohey): A hindered week with an odd Flu-bug, and the *Blaxploitation* page, but Fritz Lang's The Woman in the Window on new Kino Blu-ray gets top nod - a cracker of a noir with a valuable commentary. It was rewarding to revisit Hitchcock's underrated period-piece Under Capricorn in both a new 4K-restoration Blu-ray sporting an exceptional audio commentary by film historian Kat Ellinger. Certainly another must-own. I really enjoyed, yet another Kino Blu-ray, this past week; I, Jane Doe - a courtroom, thriller, war-romance with dark cinema undertones - bare-bones but priced right! 'Must I always wear a low cut dress to be important?.' - Jean Harlow Have a smile-inducing week!

	THIS WEEK's REVIEWS / COMPARISONS
	The Woman in the Window BD - A classic noir thriller with Robinson in top form as the likeable professor of criminal psychology who finds his most vivid fantasies and fears fulfilled when his wife and kids take a vacation and leave him alone to cope with the evils of the big city. Meeting up (innocently, it seems) with the woman of his dreams - the subject of a painting in a gallery window he passes regularly - he becomes involved first in the violent killing of a man, then in blackmail. Kino Blu-ray Release Date: June 19th, 2018 Under Capricorn BD - Hitchcock oddity, like a second-rate Gainsborough melodrama transplanted to Australia, in which a drunken Bergman, driven to the bottle by her husband's cruelty, is drawn to her cousin (Cotten), just off the boat from England. The two stars offer reheated versions of their performances in Gaslight - the relationship between their two characters is much the same, and despite the odd experimentally distended take, Hitch seems as glum and dissatisfied with the material as his cast. Blu-ray Release Date: June 19th, 2018 I, Jane Doe BD - In this courtroom drama, a French girl stands trial for murder. Flashbacks tell the grim story of how, during the Great War she got involved with a wealthy soldier and married him. He disappeared after the war. She then came to the U.S. There she finds him married to another woman. To cover himself, he tries to get her deported. In the ensuing argument, she accidently kills him. She is found guilty, but when they learn that she is expecting, the widow helps her. Blu-ray Release Date: June 19th, 2018
