ADDITION: Mondo Macabro Blu-ray (August 2023): Mondo Macabro have transferred two films by Willy Rozier to a dual-layered Blu-ray. They are Ravishing Dany (aka "Dany la ravageuse" or "Hitch Hooker" or "Dany the Ravager") made in 1972 and The Girl Can't Stop (aka "Les chiens dans la nuit") from 1969. They are cited as being from "Brand new 2K restorations of each film from the negatives". Image quality on Dany , in 1.33:1, is surprisingly strong. Colors are bright, flesh tones accurate and the visuals showcase a shade of pleasing gloss. I was impressed. NOTE: an early dream sequences seemed intentionally hazy. The Girl Can't Stop is in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio in black and white. It also looks quite pleasing without many intrusive speckles or marks. They may be a shade of warping in the final, or opening, frame of certain scenes but it is almost imperceptible in-motion. Great 1080P image quality from Mondo Macabro.

On their Blu-ray, Mondo Macabro use a DTS-HD Master dual-mono tracks (16-bit) for both films with French or English audio (with optional English subtitles) for Ravishing Dany (1972) and French audio with optional English subtitles for The Girl Can't Stop (1969). Dany is light and fun without an abundance of effect sounds, and the DUB'ing isn't atrocious. The Girl Can't Stop is more serious (involving blackmail) but both films have unnecessary scenes where women are viscously beaten with whips or belts. Not erotic in the least although it may be the most bass response in the double-feature. The scores for both films are by Jean Yatove (Jacques Tati's Jour de Fête, Rozier's Manina, The Lighthouse-Keeper's Daughter with Brigitte Bardot.) The sound quality for both films is clean with consistent dialogue, but little depth in the lossless transfers. The high-end is balanced. Mondo Macabro offer optional English subtitles on their Region FREE Blu-ray.

The Mondo Macabro Blu-ray offers a 17-minute interview with director’s daughter Catherine Rozier in French with English subtitles an a longer featurette entitled Dany and the Censors as well as actor and assistant director Christophe Bier reading Willy Rozier's script from a literary vault for 20-minutes, some X-rated inserts prefaced with text pages that state "Ravishing Dany was released to cinemas in 1972, the same gear that Deep Throat hit the screen. Buyers at film markets began looking for more explicit fare to show their customers. The following rather unappetizing "inserts" were created to spice up Dang for sale to countries where stronger sex films were being distributed. Its not known if they were ever used for that purpose, but, out of academic interest, we present them here for your edification." and lastly is a trailer for Ravishing Dany. I enjoyed the details on Willy Rozier as 1925 swimming champion of France in the breaststroke, and how he represented France at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928. He also developed an underwater camera (Aquaflex) and was an actor in seven films! An interesting chap.

Willy Rozier's Ravishing Dany and The Girl Can't Stop are very different films although both have a sexual component. The former involves, what you might expect, a serious of hitchhiking adventures that culminate in 'titillating' escapades. There is some appeal to Sandra Julien (born Sandra Calaputti) in Ravishing Dany as her acting career only lasted about five years - mostly in erotic films like I Am a Nymphomaniac. The Girl Can't Stop is a Greece-France production and deals with a husband using his wife to seduce a banker in hope of blackmail to ail his bankrupt business. There is some exploitive S+M. It's a decent crime-related film - a bit awkwardly paced. One of the additional things that I enjoyed about the Mondo Macabro Blu-ray was learning about French swimming champion and Olympian Willy Rozier! A solid image transfer for both films. Recommended to the right crowd.
