On their
Blu-ray,
Film Detective use a DTS-HD Master dual-mono track (16-bit) in the
original English language. Frankenstein's Daughter
has a few aggressive monster growls
and an occasionally dramatic score by Nicholas Carras (Missile
to the Moon,
The
Astro Zombies,
The Doll Squad and Girl
in Gold Boots among his credits) sounding clean with consistent dialogue
in the lossless transfer. Film Detective offer optional English
subtitles on their Region FREE
Blu-ray.
The Film Detective
Blu-ray
Richard E. Cunha's Frankenstein's
Daughter
is a slapdash effort but not without its nostalgic charms. Viewers have
to be fairly forgiving for the overly ripe make-up. This is about the same
ilk as director Cunha's
Giant from the Unknown and
Missile to the Moon. I adore the innocence of this genre. The draw for 50's theater audience had the,
usual, enticing and descriptive title plus inaccurate posters. Frankenstein's
Daughter
rates high on the 'camp' scale of quirky, wholesome, desirability. It's
better than some might think and the Film Detective Blu-ray
has a pleasing HD presentation, a commentary and more valuable extras.
Right 'up my alley' and we recommend to fans of these notoriously modest
efforts.
