ONE VOICE (not Ellsworth Monkton Toohey): William Wyler's The Collector on Region FREE Indicator Blu-ray gets the top nod this week advancing in every are over the existing 1080P release. Absolution is curious thriller and Indicator again give it thorough Blu-ray coverage with alternate version, commentary and other extras. Ditto for The Mind of Mr. Soames - a contemporary reworking of the Frankenstein story also providing a commentary on Indicator's Blu-ray release. George Romero's Monkey Shines is a psychological thriller that delivers a disturbing message about messing with Mother Nature. Eureka has transferred the film to a stacked Region 'B' Blu-ray. Born of Fire is a beautifully photographed fantasy/horror that has been given the Blu-ray treatment in a Region FREE edition from Indicator. At under $8 it's hard not to see value in Millcreek's bare-bones William Castle Double Feature: Homicidal / Mr. Sardonicus Blu-ray. Joe D'Amato's Absurd has a vicious villain and extreme gore - its gets a Blu-ray release from Severin Films. On DVD, Eric reviewed Bruce La Bruce's comedy The Misandrists, Ingrid Veninger's coming-of-age romance Porcupine Lake and The Desert Bride - a drama from South America.

William Castle Double Feature: Homicidal / Mr. Sardonicus BD - Homicidal (1961) In the small town of Solvang, there's a killer on the loose and the nurse taking care of a wheelchair bound stroke victim has a bedside manner is to die for. As the truth is uncovered, a town's most chilling mystery will be revealed... and a family's darkest secret. Mr. Sardonicus (1961) Desperate to retrieve a winning lottery ticket, a greedy man unearths his father's corpse. An enormous jackpot is his reward, but not without a price: his face is frozen permanently into a hideous grin. He enlists his one-eyed servant to help him lift the curse. Blu-ray Release Date: July 19th, 2016

Absurd BD - A man is running, followed by a priest. He comes across a house but the tall gates are locked so he begins to climb them, however he slips at the top and impales himself on the spikes. Injured to death he's taken to an hospital. Once there, the doctors discover that this man has an amazing regenerative power and his blood coagulates very quickly, making him almost indestructible. Blu-ray Release Date: September 25th, 2018

Absolution BD - Two Catholic boarding school students (Dominic Guard and Dai Bradley) embark upon a carefully calculated campaign to drive their hated headmaster (Richard Burton) insane. The boys launch their scheme by cooking up the most bizarre and depraved of imaginary sins, then recite these infractions in the Confessional. This sadistic little game gets wildly out of hand, resulting in murder. It's a toss-up as to who is the most repulsive character; the headmaster or his two charges. Indicator Blu-ray Release Date: September 24th, 2018

The Collector BD - Get ready for an electrifying and chilling film experience that lays bare the intimate longings of a man—and the woman who has become his captive. Based on the best-selling novel by John Fowles, The Collector tells the story of a quiet London bank clerk (Terence Stamp) whose butterfly collecting hobby takes a sinister twist when he kidnaps a most unusual specimen—a beautiful woman (Samantha Eggar).  Indicator Blu-ray Release Date: September 24th, 2018

Monkey Shines BD - Allan Mann (Jason Beghe) is a bitter, angry and vengeful man ever since an accident left him paralyzed from the neck down. He's fed up with himself and everyone around him. All that changes when he's given Ella, a monkey trained to meet his every need. But when Ella begins anticipating Allan's thoughts, strange and deadly things start happening. And as she stalks and wreaks havoc on Allan's fair-weather girlfriend (Janine Turner), incompetent doctor and meddling mother, Allan realizes he must stop the cunning maniacal creature... before she fully takes over his mind! Blu-ray Release Date: October 8th, 2018

The Mind of Mr. Soames BD - In this sci-fi thriller, John Soames (Terence Stamp) -- a man locked, since birth, in a 30-year coma -- has a groundbreaking cure when Dr. Bergen (Robert Vaughn) gives him a brain transplant. The problem is that the brain comes from a baby, and when Soames comes back to the waking world, he assumes the mental state of a young child. The journey, documented by a television crew, backfires when Dr. Bergan attempts to speed up his rate of maturation, resulting in an explosive climax… Blu-ray Release Date: September 24th, 2018

Born of Fire BD - A solar eclipse and a volcanic activity in Turkey cause British flutist Paul (Peter Firth) to experience strange visions and hears mysterious flute music during a concert in London. Before his ailing mother's death, she mentions something about the Master Musician who had taught his long dead musician father breathing exercises in Turkey. Together with an attractive astronomer (Suzan Crowley) who has also been having hallucinations and believes there is a connection with recent increasing solar activity, Paul goes to Turkey in search of the Master Musician (Oh-Tee, who has already been making creepy encounters throughout the London scenes) and is told by mysterious Bilal (Stefan Kalipha) that his flute will lead him. Blu-ray Release Date: September 24th, 2018

The Desert Bride - 54-year-old Teresa has worked for decades as a live-in maid with a family in Buenos Aires. When the family sells the house, she is forced to take a job in the distant town of San Juan. Although feeling uncomfortable with traveling, she embarks on a journey through the desert. During her first stop, in the land of the miraculous 'Saint Correa', she loses her bag with all her belongings. This unexpected incident leads her to cross paths with El Gringo, a traveling salesman and the only person who can help Teresa find her bag. What seemed like the end of her world will ultimately prove her salvation. DVD Release Date: September 4th, 2018
