(aka "Monster of Terror" or "Colour Out of Space" or "House at the End of the World" or "The Monster in the House at the End of the World")
Directed by Daniel Haller
UK / USA 1965
When American student Stephen Reinhart (Nick Adams) arrives in the English
village of Arkham to visit his fiancé Susan Witley (Suzan Farmer), he has no
idea of the horrors awaiting within. Invited by Susan's mysteriously ill mother
(Freda Jackson), Stephen is greeted acrimoniously by Susan’s father, Nahum
(Boris Karloff), who makes it clear this visit is an unwelcome intrusion to the
ornately furnished halls of the Witley estate, for Nahum is hiding a dangerous
secret. *** A young man visits his fiancés estate to discover that her wheelchair-bound scientist father has discovered a meteorite that emits mutating radiation rays that have turned the plants in his greenhouse to giants. When his own wife falls victim to this mysterious power*the old man takes it upon himself to destroy the glowing object with disastrous results.

Daniel Haller's Die, Monster, Die!
played on a double bill with Mario Bava's
Planet of the Vampires. It vacillates between Corman-esque
(American International Pictures) and a
Hammer offering a delightfully Gothic mansion, uncooperative
locals, H.P. Lovecraft excess, wheelchair-bound Karloff at his
most mysterious and gruffly ominous, and with Nick Adams offering lines
like "Genetic mutations... probably caused by radiation". No
doubt. I loved it after seeing it many years hence. The BFI Blu-ray
