(aka "Moving Targets" or "Money Hunters")
directed by Chris Langman
Australia 1984
When former IRA explosives expert Michael Riley (Michael Aitkens, LONG WEEKEND) fails a test by refusing to blow up a target in the company of his wife and child, he saves the target and escapes his own death by shooting his partner. Knowing that the IRA will send someone after him, Riley flees London to Australia to track down former cell member and lover Eve (Carmen Duncan, DARK FORCES/HARLEQUIN who is living under anonymity as a widow with teenage daughter Chrissie (Annie Jones, RAINBOW'S END) since winding up with the loot from a bankrobbery for which he was put away. Knowing that Riley will stop at nothing to get the money, and that the same people coming after him will also come after them, Eve drains her savings and takes to the road with her resentful Chrissie in search of a new place and new identity. While Riley evades icy assassin Terrier (Shane Bryant, CAPTAIN KRONOS: VAMPIRE HUNTER) and his health nut partner Pitt (Red Symons), Eve and Carmen find more danger on the road, including a gang of skinheads lead by Toe (Nicholas Eadie, CELIA: CHILD OF TERROR). Intended for theatrical release but ending up direct-to-video, RUN, CHRISSIE, RUN! is an entertaining little action thriller in the vein of another latter day Ozploitation film FAIR GAME with a more family-friendly audience in mind. |

Comments |
Umbrella has utilized an existing tape master for this film in the absence of film materials. The non-anamorphic transfer is nothing special but the content becomes suitably engrossing for Ozploitation fans. The Dolby Digital 2.0 mono audio is clean. There are no menus but a video trailer follows the feature. |
