On their
Blu-ray,
Indicator use a linear PCM 1.0 channel mono track (24-bit) in the
original English language. An Unsuitable Job for a Woman
has a couple of more aggressive sequences. It is authentically flat with modest depth
and score by Chaz Jankel (1988's
D.O.A.), sounding reasonably supportive of the mystery elements
vie the uncompressed transfer. Indicator offer optional English (SDH) subtitles on
their Region FREE
Blu-ray.
The Indicator
Blu-ray
Christopher Petit's An Unsuitable Job for
a Woman
seems to have all the elements of a comfortable 'English country house
mystery' and if you can suspend your disbelief for a couple of the more
abrupt story shifts - it's quite a good thriller. It actually spawned a
TV series of the same name in 1997 that ran for two seasons. Certainly
it is a fairly gripping detective-crime plot with subtle
characterizations if not completely realized well in the production
which sports a more languid pace than some may enjoy. It's a rarely seen
film and I was very glad to have viewed it via an Indicator Blu-ray
as they never disappoint in terms of appreciative supplements and a
strong a/v presentation. Better than I was expecting. Recommended! |
