Tagged as 'The great follow-up to 'Walking with Dinosaurs' and 'Walking with Beasts', presented by Professor Robert Winston, who explains the story of human evolution.' I would have to say that I think this, along with its predecessor broadcast shows, is the best television I have ever seen - bar none.

 

I wouldn't say I didn't have any comparatively larger interest in dinosaurs or our evolution than most other children when growing up, but these DVDs certainly re-ignite any curiosities that may have lay dormant. I can't even begin to imagine the extensive work that went into these productions, but I would easily call this final third (4th if you include 'Big Al') edition the most illuminating, personally engrossing and intensely compelling. Using modern knowledge with the best theorizing science has available at this time, we are introduced to our ancestors... and also those who did not flourish as we follow in the footsteps of ancient man in a series that traces the history of humanity from bipedal ape-men (Australopithecus Aphaeresis) to the awakening of the human mind's potential with Homo Erectus.

 

I will admit to watching the opening half hour of Stanley Kubrick's '2001: A Space Odyssey' at least 30 times as it realistically details the most enormous step our species has ever taken -  to be cognitive of the use of tools. This has me in total awe knowing that, indeed, this event did take place and one of our relations first became aware in one immensely momentous event.

 

'Walking With Cavemen' is a documentary based production that follows both before and after that colossal step, leaving me as blown away as I can ever remember being. I encourage you, in my strongest voice to watch all three of these series and gain perspective on our minute importance in the large scheme of evolution. It will make the small things in your life absolutely disappear. I guarantee. out of
