The Enemy Below      The Frogmen      Morituri     and    Sink the Bismarck!

Synopses:

The Enemy Below
During World War II, the USS Haynes, an American destroyer escort discovers a German U-boat in the South Atlantic. A deadly duel between the two ships ensues, and Captain Murrell must draw upon all his experience to defeat the equally experienced German commander.

The Frogmen
The new commander of a Navy Underwater Demolition Team--nicknamed "Frogmen"--must earn the respect of the men in his unit, who are still grieving over the death of their former commander and resentful of the new one.

Morituri
A German living in India during World War II is blackmailed by the English to impersonate an SS officer on board a cargo ship leaving Japan for Germany carrying a large supply of rubber for war vehicles. His mission is to disable the scuttling charges so the captain cannot sink the ship if they are stopped by English warships.

Sink the Bismarck!
Chronicles the breakout of the Bismark during the early days of World War Two. Seen both from the point of view of the many naval vessels on both sides and from the central headquarters of the British where the search for the super battleship was controlled.

Comments:

All 4 titles in this Heroes of War Collection - Naval Battles package have been released previously but like the other 3 Boxsets (Crime- Street Justice, Heroes of War Collection - Frontline Combat and Classic Westerns Collection - The Outlaws) released at this time it supports its value with an extremely reasonable pricing. There are no significant extras - only trailers and some Fox MovieTone Newsreels, but the DVDs are all  progressive and sport anamorphic transfers (when the film is widescreen). Of the 4 Boxsets released by Fox at this time I think this may be the best in regards to the content - The Enemy Below, Morituri and Sink the Bismarck! are all first class war films and The Frogmen, although perhaps not at that level is still decent viewing. The packages constitute exceptional DVD value in my opinion and I strongly recommend.
