Can anyone forget the Mission Impossible theme music? rivaling Peter Gunn as one of the most memorable in TV history. Right from the pilot episode the show leaps forward leaving no wonder the 'idea' was swiftly swept up by Hollywood to showcase Tom Cruise.

There are some differences from Season One (reviewed HERE). Obviously in the show itself Graves replaced Hill as team leader, but on the DVD front image quality remains very good for a 40-year old TV show - detail and color are excellent. One of the better classic television transfer that I have seen. All 25 episodes are clean and progressively transferred for regions 1 (and 4) with no extras. But in the Second season Paramount have decided to invest some further effort with optional subtitles (in English, Spanish or Portuguese) and a Spanish DUB is offered. These new additions, as well as the allowing region code 4, obviously mean that this DVD set will be offered for South Americans to enjoy as well.

NOTE: These appear to be the original length (approx. 50:06 each) - not the shortened versions as seen in recent syndication.

As with Season One Paramount have included an optional audio upgrade to 5.1 and it sounded fairly decent - certainly superior to the original mono track, but it is a remix so don't expect too much. No extras but we are getting about 20 hours of intelligent, well-acted, suspenseful TV. It shows some age in that plots can be a bit cheesy and formulaic but I loved every minute especially the 60's clothes, Barbra Bain's hairstyles and all the nostalgia that this show brought together with its efficient style. The Second Season was really getting the show into gear propelling it through 7 strong seasons and 168 episodes.
