directed by William Berke
USA 1958
A heat wave has settled
over The City (it's New York, but McBain never
identifies it as such), bringing tempers to the
flashpoint. An alarm clock wakes a cop for his midnight
shift; when he descends into the soupy night, a shot
fells him. The entire precinct mobilizes immediately -
one of their own has been killed. Excerpt of review from Bill McVicar at imdb.com located HERE |

Comments |
Cop Hater made its DVD debut back in March 2011 in MGM's made-on-demand Limited Edition Collection that is currently put on halt for some reason. The progressive transfer is, unfortunately, presented in open matte. The mono soundtrack is decent, but there are no extras provided. An unusual crime drama from United Artists comes recommended to noir fans if the price is right, but DVD release comes short. |
