Talk about unfortunate spoilers!! MGM fit to put it on the cover and now all descriptions of this little-seen film noir from United Artists boasts this spoiler all over the internet. Marjorie Steele only made three films, but she and Lew Ayres make a nice pair of protagonists running all over San Francisco from the police. MGM's made-on-demand DVD is decent quality - we've certainly seen worse from them. The progressive transfer can be soft, with minor damage, but nothing too intrusive from the enjoyment of the picture. Mono soundtrack is, likewise, good quality. There are no extras and only 8 chapters which is enough for such a short film. A minor recommendation for film noir fans. |
