(aka "The Big Stickup" )
directed by Andrew L. Stone
USA 1950
Warner
Bros. forgotten 1950 film Highway 301 is a bit of a hybrid
of old WB gangster and film noir - which was then at its
peak. Star Steve Cochran - who naturally looked like a
former thug from the streets - plays George Legenza the
leader of a gang of not-too-bright bank robbers blandly
dubbed The Tri-State Gang. Excerpt of review from Steve-O (Film Noir of the Week) located HERE\ |

Comments |
A very strong progressive transfer with very minimal damage that would not be out of place on any Warner's Film Noir collections.
Unfortunately, Warner released it as part of Warner Archive collection, so no subtitles, no extras (not even a trailer), but this highly enjoyable film is still very recommended. |
