I guess that I could watch films like this for the rest of my life. Considered the 'ultimate tearjerker' Random Harvest directed by Mervyn LeRoy (Waterloo Bridge) builds another of the classic romances to come out of WW2 cinema. the plot reads like a classic tragedy.

Paula Smith (Greer Garson) is the secretary of industrialist Charles Rainier (Ronald Colman). She's also his wife, which Charles does not know. Shell-shocked during World War I, he doesn't recall his days as her husband, John Smith. Advised not to endanger Charles' fragile mental state, Paula cannot openly reveal her identity. She must find other ways to help him remember their life together. From the novel by James Hilton (Goodbye, Mr. Chips, Lost Horizon) comes one of the great sentimental romance movies. Another fabulous DVD from Warner - contrast worthy of a Criterion, film grain, relevant extra features, well-appointed subtitles and obvious care and love put into its production. This is perfect and I am so happy that I own this film in such a splendid state. Now they need to get on to doing LeRoy's other classic Waterloo Bridge as well.
