(aka 'Kyokuskin kenka karate burai ken" or "Karate Bearfighter')

directed by Kazuhiko Yamaguchi
Japan 1977

This is the second film in the trilogy based on the life of Sonny Chiba's mentor, martial arts master Masutatsu Oyama (also founder of Kyokushin Karate in Japan)

Masutatsu Oyama winds the all-Japan Karate tournament and becomes well-known throughout the country, but those in the conventional karate world are resentful of his skill and try to banish him. Oyama ignores them and keeps on training in his own style. When he meets a boy named Rinato, whose father is suffering from Cancer, Oyama decides to fight a bear in order to earn money to help out. In the midst of the roar of spectators Oyama's amazing Karate skills strike.

For Chiba fans this is a must have film. Perfect within its genre - you can have a lot of fun watching this. out of

Comments:

This appears to be HD-tape sourced with no combing artifacts in forced weave mode. Very good quality - sharp, vibrant colors and stable contrast. Subtitles seem fine as well. Extras are some liner notes and trailers for the rest of the "collection". Excellent work by Ventura - Chiba fans will be very happy. out of
