Drew Carey is your everyday blue-collar guy who's struggling through life's ups and downs with his closest friends, Oswald, Lewis and Kate. Stuck in the same job for ten years, Drew performs a balancing act between sucking up to his boss and doing his best to irritate his annoying co-worker, Mimi. When he's not at work, he's trying to have some success in the romance department and indulging in a few of his own beers he brews in his garage with his friends.
*****
I always liked The Drew Carey Show. He brought some excellent writing with an inventive sitcom environment, outrageous characters and off-the-wall antics. Certainly one the better grass-roots comedy shows in recent television history.

A bit disappointing that entire seasons weren't released on DVD for this fine series. This is a compilation of 6 of the better episodes (including the pilot). Actually watching the entire series I recall that these are probably the best with 'Drew Blows His Promotion" certainly being hilarious. The image quality seems a little weak compared to other TV series that have been transferred - it is a bit blurry and there is visible combing indicating possibly a non-HD source. There are no extras but the price is sure right for over 2 hours or primo Drew Carey. We recommend! |
