Video The Region 1 is far better then the German release which has lots of problems like smearing, softness, contrast boosting and yellow tint (see pic 6). The Region 1 isn't perfect as it has a bit too much red tint but compared to the German DVD it looks very good. Audio After comparing both English tracks for these DVDs i have to say that the Region 1 sounded much better. It doesn't mean that the English track on the German DVD is bad. I can't say much about the German Dub Dolby Digital track but the DTS track has some major issue: the audio is about 0.5 1.0sec behind the video and this unacceptable!!! Extras If you read the stuff for the German DVD then you think you get a lot of extras but when you watch it you feel screwed. The extras aren't any good at all. I gave it a look and after only few mins I just turned them off. The Region 1 only has the trailer but at least the quality is better compared to the trailer on the Region 2 and it's in English. Menu To make things short: I liked the static menus from the American release at lot more then the Animated Menu on the German DVD. - Enrico |
