( aka "Det Sjunde inseglet" )
by
Ingmar Bergman
Swedish 1957
"The Seventh Seal is, as you'd expect, brilliantly acted by Bergman's stock players. Bergman's direction is incredibly powerful, with many memorable moments - the opening light in the sky; the parade of flagellants; and, of course, the dance of the dead over the hill, shot on the spur of the moment in a truly inspired piece of film-making."

It appears as though the
Korean release have taken all the exact extras from the Criterion. If
you look at the bitrates they are virtually identical in transfer as
well. With inclusions of Korean optional subs and Cast and Crew in
Korean only (and the trailer NOT being subtitles) and the different
Menu, it is exactly the
same as the Criterion disc. The added 8 seconds is most likely the
Criterion opening logo. We can only really give the edge to Criterion in
the menu department and the extras with the illustrated Bergman bio
(Both have the Cowie Commentary), the image quality and sound and both
ties.

is also a region 2 version out that in the original aspect
ratio of 1.33:1 but has only Dolby Digital Mono audio. There
