Ted Butler is one of the forefathers of touting manipulation in the Silver market. And not unlike GATA he has started with the wrong premise - and like a dog with a bone - refuses to accept he's led himself astray down a dead-end pathway. After many years it is beyond silly but tragically absurd. Ted, I urge you to investigate Mises 'Regression Theorem' or the subjective theory of value to the objective-exchange value, or purchasing power of money. See Silver CAN'T go to 'da moon' unless all other commodities follow. You want $200/oz AG? Then be prepared for $40/gallon gas and $50 Starbuck's coffee. You guys love touting Silver's many industrial qualities but don't realize that's what restrains its price. This is how it differs from AU - which can be, virtually, any price in $s. Let's just get to some of his calls... From 6 years ago:
Apr 20th, 2011 - The End of Silver Price Manipulation, Price To Go Much Higher! (Ted Butler) Hmmm... this was the price when he said that:
You can see it was $46.Today (March 2017) it's $17.85. So, let's be very clear about this - you said it was 'going much higher' and almost 5 years later it's less than 1/3 what it was. Do you see why you have no credibility, whatsoever?
January 18, 2013 - Is Ted Butler’s Silver Panic Imminent? Apple Contractor Claims New iMac Production Delayed Over Silver Shortage! This story was a load of BS and I think I know the guy who made it up. Computers and iPhones use such a negligible amount of silver - it has NO impact at all on the retail market. None. You're living a lie, Mr. Butler.
August 9th, 2013 - Ted Butler: JPM is Cornering the Gold Market! Sigh... what are you cornering the market in, Ted? idiocy? delusion? bad data?
April 29, 2014 - Ted Butler: Silver is Akin to a Lit Match & a Barrel of Dynamite! At his prediction:
Silver was $19.25.Today, 3 years later, (March 2017) it's $17.85. So, do you suppose he meant an implosion or something? Six years later it's modestly lower. A lit match and a barrel of dynamite implies an explosion, yes? Do you think you'd like to have that call again, Teddy? Perhaps its a better metaphor to describe Silver as a trough of baked beans garnished with a couple of dead dogs.
November 4, 2014 - Ted Butler: The Silver Nightmare Will Be Over Soon Well. firstly let's define what you mean by 'Silver Nightmare' Cause for me it means a virtual assembly line of AG analyst dolts telling a gullible public exactly what they want to hear about Silver going up, up and away in value while at the same time promoting their website, newsletter, videos, PM selling businesses etc. Charlatans - you should be ashamed. Now let's define what you mean by 'Soon'; tomorrow? next week? or 2.5 years? longer?
14 Jun 2015 - Go out and buy as much physical gold & silver as you can afford! Now, I didn't read the article but I presume from the 'lead' that you anticipated an imminent rise in the price, correct? How do you feel that call has gone? Not great, huh Ted?
September 14, 2015 - Ted Butler: The Coming Silver Shortage - still coming, eh Teeder?
Oct 11th, 2016 - Ted Butler: The Next Move in Silver Will Be Explosive than Not - trouble with this headline lead - that I saw in multiple locations - is that it is not even grammatically correct... it's not enough you guys are consistent contrarian-indicators to the market you claim to hold expertise - but now you are so lazy you don't even have to form complete sentences! - Just be sure, I suppose, it has words like Silver, Next Move and Explosive. "Done for the day, Honey - got 6 new subscriber, let's go buy some perogies..."
18 Dec 2016 - JP Morgan hits 550m oz of silver why? expect over $1000 an oz is why!! Ted Butler.
I tell you what, Theodore - you've got balls. I'd like to ask - do the more extravagant calls attract more subscribers? and does NO ONE ever hold you responsible when your predictions never transpire or some close? How do you get away with saying things like this?
These last three (below) are the most recent so we'll let them slide... for now. But your track record is abysmal, Ted. I do think that one day the public will awake... and, like the boy who cried wolf once too often, they will never trust your outrageous predictions again.
