Filmography
This filmography categorizes each item by the film(s) it references. Accordingly, some items are listed more than once. Interviews and criticism are also listed individually, accessible via the banner above.
The issue of a complete filmography for Jacques Rivette is complicated. Some of the earliest films -- in particular Aux quatre coins (1949), Le Quadrille (1950) and Le Divertissement (1950) -- are presumed lost, though Tom Milne has a brief, and so far only, description of Le Quadrille in his article on L'amour fou. Are these titles fair game? Or should the filmography proper start with Le Coup du berger, the first film of his which can actually be viewed? We will try to make this filmography as comprehensive and definitive as possible, so if you see any errors or omissions, let us know.
Aux quatre coins (1949) (16mm, silent, B&W, approx. 20 min)
