Childhood friends Jeronimo (Blas Finardi Niz) and Matias (Joaquín Parada) grew up together spending the summers at the country home and estuary of Jeronimo's farmer parents until Matias' father - not only conscious of the stirrings of sexual attraction between the two youngsters but also splitting with Jeronimo's father over the issue of privatization of agriculture - separates them by moving himself and Matias to Brazil to start a new life. Ten years later, Matias (Ignacio Rogers, ANOTHER SILENCE returns to Libres with his girlfriend Rochi (Renata Calmon) and runs into Jeronimo (Esteban Masturini) when Rochi hires him to do their make-up for Rochi's sister's graduation party during Carnival. Busy with her sister and possibly suspecting something more between her boyfriend and his childhood friend - who Matias never mentioned in all his reminiscences of his childhood spent in the countryside and the estuaries - Rochi encourages Matias to go along with Jeronimo on his visit to his parents. Left alone together, the physical attraction ends up taking a back seat to their realizations about how each has changed and how they have both had their ambitions and passions dampened from the endless possibilities of their childhood days. |

Comments |
Breaking Glass' single-layer DVD features an adequate progressive, anamorphic encode (slightly windowboxed on the sides for some reason) with Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 stereo options while the optional English subtitles have one or two formatting errors. Extras include a brief featurette with the cast and crew as well as the trailer and previews for other titles. |
