The two pixel by pixel identical Columbia transfers were mastered from clean source material. Highly detailed, with a rich color palette and good compression they only display minor edge enhancement (tent in pic#1), but less than all the other transfers. The almost identical UK and remastered German transfers - from the same source print - display dirt (pic#1), are softer than the US image, at times overcontrasted, at times too bright with a yellowish hue (pic#1, pic#5), bad black levels and suffer from artefacts, most notably aliasing and edge enhancement. The German transfer is slightly more detailed in complex textures (shirt in pic#2, cars in pic#3) but not continously (pic#4). The Pathé transfer has a slightly better framing (pic#3). The BMG First Edition used different source material (no dirt in pic#1) with better contrast and coloring but suffers from severe artefacting, especially strong smearing and blocking; the picture was cropped at the sides (pic#3) and the colors are bleached out occasionally (pic#4).

Note: Some reviewers erroneousley state that the transfer from the Ultimate Edition is better than the previous Superbit transfer. Columbia reused their Superbit transfer without any modifications for the Ultimate Edition. You can find a comparison of the 'two' transfers here.
