The 5 ways to keep DVDBeaver around!
or
How can YOU help DVDBeaver from posting invasive, annoying and
seducing advertising (Flash, animated banners, pop-ups etc.)
P.S. Don't worry, I'd rather close the site than go that route.
I'm very proud of DVDBeaver's unique existence on the Internet where bottom line $'s always seem to speak so loudly. We always refuse the occasional corporate requests to post paid advertising on our site for fear of it prostituting our review recommendations. Also, on a personal note, I just hate the obviousness of advertising - it is always impersonal and often inappropriate for the intended subject matter. 1) Our greatest source of income is derived from our loyal supporters who use the Amazon links on DVDBeaver for their purchases. NOTE: Specifically 'direct' links to products benefit us 33% more than 'homepage' links. If there is a product that you would like to buy that DVDBeaver does not have a direct link to - please email me and I will create it for you - Gary@2ze.com (it would take only a minute and be my pleasure!) Adding to your Amazon Cart benefits us, Adding to your Wish List does not. 2) Purchasing our sweatshirts HERE gives us a healthy bonus towards our large bandwidth expenses. We still have about 40 left to sell. 3) Donations. I tend to discourage this form of revenue stream as it is really not part of any accepted business model. If we are to survive it should be because of our ability to make purchasing more efficient for the end user (accurate reviews - easy to buy), plus I always feel overly indebted to those who contribute inordinately large amounts. Saying that, it is always a most appreciated gesture and does indeed help pay the bills. We wouldn't be in existence without the generosity of our supporters who contribute to us in this manner. 4)
Offering information. Many of you have a great deal of knowledge
to share. Email us so that it can be disseminated to our
community. Even more efficiently we accept subscriptions to our
Discussion ListServ
HERE for mutually shared
information to our international group. It is this information
that helps keep us a viable DVD resource. Although this should have been mentioned first, we truly appreciate the communal spirit that exists from all our 'Beavers' who 'chip in'. To me, you are all heroes (Patron of the Arts sounds a little pretentious, but that is what I am thinking) - YOU keep us in existence and we THANK YOU ALL!
