Comments:

I was curious about Reptilicus because the MGM (Midnight Movie) version seemed OOP everywhere and fetching big bucks. I also was hoping this Japanese DVD might be widescreen. I got my answers - unfortunately it is NOT widescreen and its appeal lies in the fact that it is such a baaaad film. We're talking Ed Wood bad - terrible effects, weak performances - uggg. So bad, it's good.

The Japanese RUN Corporation DVD is interlaced, single-layered, probably taken from VHS, and generally looks pretty weak. An improved transfer wouldn't make the film any better but it might be more watchable. I`ll keep my eyes open for that MGM at a decent price.

It has optional Japanese subtitles on the region 0, SD disc. It's value lies in its digital scarcity and ¸Reptilicus is the type of film to watch with friends for an amusing start to a double feature. I loved watching stuff like this - but that's me. For most there is no value here.
