(aka 'All Ladies Do It" or "All Women Do it" or "Cosė fan tutte')
directed by Tinto
Brass
italy 1992
More Tinto Brass tom-foolery. In another tale of titillation and comedic flirtations, Diane (Claudia Koll) is happily married to Paolo but due to her extrovert character she regularly winds up in short-lived adventures, which she doesn't keep hidden from Paolo. On the contrary: by telling him, their sexual relationship is fueled with fresh impulses. When Diana experiences a stormy affair with the poet Alphonse, who is obsessed with female bottoms, Paolo gets jealous after all. He rejects Diana, who responds by indulging in a series of sexual excesses with her sister and some friends. After a particularly rough house-party, however, Diana returns to Paolo. For me who enjoy... um... women posterior's , this film is loaded ..um.. cheekiness. I think most know what to expect from Tinto Brass by now. It is kind of fun and sexy... sure. out of |

NOTE: The below Blu-ray captures were ripped directly from the Blu-ray disc.
ADDITION: Arrow - Region 'B' Blu-ray - May 2013': Firstly the Cult Epics DVD doesn't appear to be available at Amazon anymore -perhaps too racy.?! The new Arrow 1080P is from a different print. It is certainly 'duller' (accurate?), has more information in the frame and none of the scratch damage present on the SD - which we can now confirm to be from a PAL source - see times - (hence the ghosting example see below). So contrast doesn't appear to be 'up to snuff' on the Blu-ray OR the film was produced looking this way?! It offers lossless audio for both original Italian or an English DUB. There are optional subtitles on the Region 'B'-locked disc. The only extra is a trailer. For those with a fetish for pretty Italian gals buttocks - well this is the 'definitive' film by a wide margin.
Eric Cotenas says: "I'm wondering about the aspect ratio. I'm
thinking 1.66:1 would have been more appropriate but all of Filmexport's
16:9 SD masters for 1.66:1 films have been cropped (Severin's
ART OF LOVE,
THE ALCOVE, Media Blasters' WITCHERY, Arrow's
BLACK ANGEL, Cult Epics' other Brass films including
TRASGREDIRE which actually lists a 1:1.66 theatrical masking ratio
in the end credits) and it seems to be the same case with HD. *** ON THE DVD: This is an non-HD tape sourced transfer that may be from a PAL source although I don't really think it shows enough flaws that I can positively state that. It is anamorphic with the original widescreen ratio. It has yellow removable subtitles, original audio and some interesting extras. It looks quite analog at times with hazy motion sequences and very soft images, although it may have been the lens used in the specific scene. As far as these type of DVDs go, it is one of the better. |
