(aka 'Judgement at Nuremberg ')

directed by Stanley Kramer
USA 1961

t's been three years since the most prominent Nazi leaders were put on trail. This is about four judges who used their offices to conduct Nazi sterilization and 'cleansing' policies. A retired American Judge, Dan Haywood (Spencer Tracy), is the leader of the tribunal. As the Cold War heats up everyone is aware of the sensitivity of the circumstances. This film is about how the cards were played.

This is a relevant piece of cinematic history which helps to detail some of the brutalities of war. Kramer makes a masterful and well-balanced examination of the details of Nuremberg. Certainly a must-see for everyone.out of

Comments:

The image is quite good considering it is not anamorphic-ally enhanced. Sharp, great contrast and a little film grain peeking through. The 5.1 audio mix is wasted as the film's content does not warrant it - so stick with the original mono. Great extras, terrible subs. Overall a very solid DVD - out of
