Editor's NOTE: I own the Wellspring "Masterworks Edition" - Trond has the Seville "Signature Series" which is a direct port (when looking at the bitrate and menus). I didn't notice the flaw on my straight Wellspring edition but Trond did notice a flaw in the sound on his Seville Pictures issue ( see below ). I'll wager the same flaw is on my Wellspring but I didn't detect it.

SEVILLE (WELLSPRING) EDITION

I have a major complaint when it comes to the audio portion of the main feature. At frequent intervals throughout the film there is a high-pitched ringing at the video line frequency, approximately 16 kHz (I have heard similar things on only a handful of DVDs the last 5 years). This gave me a pounding headache and took away much of the enjoyment of the film. I am fairly confident that the squeal is found on the U.S. Wellspring disc as well since the Seville disk is a straight port of that disc. Even though only a small fraction of the population can actually hear this frequency range, I consider it a serious flaw. Shame on you, Wellspring/Seville...
