The two German editions have the same transfer. The Japan and Hong Kong transfers are identical to the pixel, as well. Both suffer strongly from red tinting (pic#2), although the US and the two German DVDs show some slight red hue too. Only the US opening sequence (using the multi angle function of the DVD format) offers a natural color palette (pic#1) but it's zoomed in. Color and contrast are a little flat on all transfers compared to the US opening (clouds and wall in pic#1). Detail is good on all NTSC DVDs, the German editions have the softest picture and are not correctly flagged resulting in combing artefacts when deinterlaced in WEAVE mode. The RC1 transfer shows a few artefacts (sky in pic#1, exhaust fumes in pic#3). The Asian transfers are a little brighter (pic#4). Black levels are very good on all transfers (pic#5).
