Both transfers display distinct edge enhancement (pic#1). The US transfer offers a slightly better detail resolution (note the film grain in pic#4) whereas the Hong Kong transfer appears somewhat softened. The US transfer is plagued by strong artefacting occasionally (pic#2). Combing effects can be seen on both transfers when WEAVE deinterlaced (e.g. pic#3 of the HK transfer). The US disc offers the original Japanese and the US opening & closing titles using the multi angle feature of the dvd format. However the image of the US version is very soft and zoomed in (pic#3).
