On both DVDs Warner presents a clean and crisp transfer with fine details, vibrant colors and deliberately enhanced contrast. The higher bitrate of the Extended Edition transfer results in slightly better definition of fine textures (Holm's beard, pic#1) and better color gradation (sky, pic#2 background in pic#3). A few scenes have been colortimed differently in the Extended Edition (shift from day to night in pic#4; different hues in pic#5). There is a digital mark ("821") present on two successive frames of the Extended Edition PAL DVD (pic#6 and pic#7).
