"Neues vom Hexer" was originally filmed on 35mm film and intended for projection in the aspect ratio of 1,66:1. The new Ufa transfer remains faithful to this aspect ratio and is therefore closer to the original projection than the ~ 1,6:1 transfer from Kinowelt. The Ufa transfer shows better definition (Horney's face in pic#3, the car lights in pic#5), a better contrast balance keeping all the grey shades intact (Kinski's forehead in pic#2; also note the sparkle on Horney's dress in pic#4). Due to some contrast boosting the Ufa transfer suffers from slight edge enhancement (silhouette in pic#1).
