These transfers were taken from a low-contrast interpositive, created on negative film stock. The source material was cleaned up well (digitally). The transfers exhibit high picture detail and vivid colors, true to the original fine grain VistaVision image (pic#3). The theatrical aspect ratio of ~1,85:1 was changed to ~ 1,78:1 adding picture information on top and at the bottom. (The film was shot in the aspect ratio of ~ 1,66:1). There are some compression artefacts visible in soft color transitions (bus front in pic#1, night sky in pic#2 and some minor edge enhancement (street lamp in pic#1), otherwise these are excellent transfers. The German transfer boasts the best detail resolution, followed by the Australian and finally the US transfer (e.g. suit in pic#3, pic#5).
