The non anamorphic Laser Paradise transfer is overcontrasted and suffers from a hazy picture, color bleeding, strong edge enhancement and severe digital artefacting. Due to incorrect progressive flagging there are combing effects visible when deinterlaced in WEAVE mode. The anamorphic transfer from the Anchor Bay release is far superior boasting a well defined image, considering the source material was filmed on 16 mm. The transfer was cleaned up nicely with only mild speckling evident. Contrast and color reproduction are good, but the picture is lacking in detail in darker scenes due to poor shadow delineation.
