Silence of the Lambs has deservedly garnered much critical acclaim. It contains both a great story and great acting. But it even goes beyond that, Jonathan Demme's as director should not be overlooked. Haunting lighting and camera angles as well as the musical score really help define this movie.

Anthony Hopkins is another of those actors that you can't seem to find a really poor movie he has made. He brings a certain style and class to everything he does, and even this where he is a serial murdering cannibal, we find we enjoy and even like him.

Jodi Foster was very good, but not GREAT in my mind. It will be interesting to see how the sequel is without her.

Overall this is a gripping and powerful movie.

4 ½ stars out of 5
