I am sure this movie was pretty historically accurate, but it really never seemed to go anywhere.
The acting was nothing to rave about, meaning the fine actors in the movie were never really tested. Hackman, Beatty or Dunaway 's charcters did not grow or change. The final scene was unnecessarily violent and I noticed very few directorial gems or magnificent scene's. No, i was dissappointed. I know it is on a number of people's top 100 list, but it is not on mone.
