" 'Jean-Louis Duroc (Trintignant) and Anne Gauthier (Aimée) are a man and woman. They meet accidentally picking up there children from the boarding school they attend during the week. He visits his son, she her daughter. After missing her train, he offers her a ride back to Paris. They slowly are revealing characteristics about themselves to both us and each another. They are performing the age old ritual of slowly falling in love.


The director Lelouch's is adept at telling this simple story moving from color scenes to black and white ones. We hear inside the minds of these two individuals and it ingratiates their love affair even more so into our psyche . For romantics, this is pretty much nirvana, and being a big one myself can whole heartedly recommend this as a masterpiece and a quintessential film of the 60's. "

Comments: Solid stuff from Warner. It is not restored as I still see dirt and speckles in places but the contrast and colors are very good. Clean print from 66' film. The sound  was acceptable although not overly applaud-able. It may have been from the verite style that the film was shot in at times though. I am suitably impressed with this offering. Good extras, great film.   out of .
