Comments:

The older version was not particularly bad, but the newer has better contrast and is slightly darker. It also shows more film grain... I kind of think this is a pick'em because occasionally the older version looks a bit sharper. The big plus of the new version is the commentary which, personally, I wouldn't sit through as I did not like this film very much. Actually, even though it is an Oscar winner I wouldn't recommend the film at all.

I am still investigating if these are two different prints. If you look at the last capture you can see some damage on the newer release that is not present on the older release. I don't have an answer yet. I prefer the menu's on the older release... something about color menus with a black and white film doesn't sit well with me.
